90 Years On,
India's First Society Dedicated to Maternal and Child Health
OGSSI stands as India's first society of its kind, founded in 1934 under the dynamic stewardship of Sir Dr. A. L. Mudaliar. Over the decades, it has been guided by doyens in the field, including Prof. M. K. Krishna Menon, Prof. Masani, and Dr. Ida Scudder, alongside countless eminent stalwarts in Obstetrics & Gynaecology who have driven its success. The society has also been represented at the national level through FOGSI President Padma Shri Dr. B. Palaniappan and Senior Vice President Dr. Kurian Joseph, further cementing its standing in the field.
OGSSI founded under Dr. Mudaliar's stewardship, becoming the first society of its kind in India.
Hosted the All India Congress in Chennai.
Hosted the All India Congress in Chennai for the second time.
Received the President's Rotate Trophy for the best-performing society (01.04.1991 to 31.03.1992).
OGSSI celebrates more than 90 years of dedicated service to maternal and child health, with continued national representation and contributions from eminent speakers worldwide.
